Surfing

image There are many great surfing beaches around, especially a left-hand reef break in front of the house. The main locations for surfing in Mayo are the beaches around in the Westport/Louisburgh area, Achill Island and Belmullet. The biggest swells hit Ireland in winter around January and February, but the weather conditions at this time of the year can only attract hardcore surfers. End of the summer the swell can be already pretty good, but water and air temperature are much nicer.
